Grew up in the US, Italy and Germany. This problem is much bigger in the US because the manufacturers didn't take local customs into account. Most Americans close the door to the washer when it's not in use. They didn't grow up knowing you have to wipe the seal (boot) after every use. The manufacturers also didn't put in the proper drain holes in the beginning (as has been done in Europe for decades) because of the "we know it all, what could anyone else in the world teach us" mentality.

Ill tell you how to prepare it. Don't open the box and return it to the store and get a different one. After spending hours watching tutorial videos trying to figure out how to operate this dishwasher, I've come to the conclusion that it's overly complicated and poorly designed. Nearly all the reviews I've found echo the same sentiment-this thing is a nightmare to use. First off, the control panel might as well require a degree in rocket science to decipher. Elon Musk would probably call it a "dumb design," and I couldn't agree more. Who needs a half-inch thick manual just to figure out how to turn off the drying cycle? To add insult to injury, they want to charge me $5.00 just to answer a basic question about the settings. And don't get me started on the layout of the buttons-they're so awkwardly placed that I have to open the dishwasher door just to see or press them. Why not have buttons on the front like a normal dishwasher? You know, with clear labels for Normal, Heavy, Delicate, High Temp, No Heat Dry, Start, and Cancel? And please, no dual-purpose buttons that work only when you release them! And speaking of confusing, what's the deal with the Auto cycle? It shows the same time frame for both half load and full load. Does the left arrow mean wash the top load and the right arrow the bottom load? It's baffling! Is it too much to ask for intuitive controls that actually make sense? To make matters worse, pressing start often results in no countdown and no action. Is there a reset button somewhere hidden in that dense manual, or is this thing just defective? Oh, and about those annoying chimes and sounds-it's impossible to turn them off, despite following the manual's instructions. And what happens if there's a power outage while the dishwasher is running? How on earth do you resume the cycle once the power's back? And here's the kicker-the app that took over 2 hours to get working is completely useless because the dishwasher powers off when not in use, which also turns off the WiFi. So much for starting it remotely! You have to manually go to the dishwasher to start it anyway. And why are they not 5G? Guess they are saving a buck by using outdated tech. And let's not forget-I can't even figure out how to set the darn clock. It's not in the manual! I honestly wish I had my old dishwasher back. Save yourself the headache and avoid LG dishwashers like the plague. It's a disaster waiting to happen and not worth the frustration.

I have no intention of doing this. I just needed to see if there was a difference between a 3 wire cord and a 4 wire cord because my stove died today and the outlet has 4 holes and the current cord has 4 prongs and I wasn't sure a 3 pronged cord would work. So thank you! I'm confident I needed the 4 wire cord so I just paid for it.

Have this dishwasher didn't know about the side mounts good to know, I ran my dishwasher a full loads before fully installing it to ensure that their wasn't any leaks going on under the dishwasher. I also installed a water detector device under the dishwasher. As we I siliconed all the edges at the wall side to ensure that if there would be a leak it wouldn't find it's self going in the walls and subsequently down to the next level. The water detector keep it close to the front of the unit as you will have to replace the battery every five years.

Awesome except you don't elaborate on the kick plate of the other one you're talking about. I have 3 fucking kick plate pieces and the manual is absolutely not helpful. Sigh...

Thanks for the instructions! did you ever have to deal with a "bump out bracket" for a microwave (samsung) which does not allow more than 12" cabinet depth above it? This causes problems with section cabinets from ikea so hoping to get some tips from the pros :)
